As Clique’s front-end lead, I initiated training and mentored engineers who advanced their careers. Trusted in pitch meetings and consults, my current focus is on company growth and strengthening our front-end team.

At United Advisors, I wore the hats of both Front-End Developer and Web Designer for two years. I led the development and design of our core product, the VFM CRM, as well as ancillary services like advisor website development. I partnered with the executive team to deliver striking designs using Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator and executed them with SASS, jQuery, and PHP. Additionally, I managed our dedicated CentOS server to ensure optimal performance.

A subsidiary of Community EMS (which itself is a subsidiary of Beaumont Health), Parastar is a global consultancy and EMS management firm that delivers innovative solutions and revenue-generating options for EMS, fire departments and healthcare systems. Their revolutionary approach to hospital affiliated transportation and innovative care-giving delivery models are redefining how we think of healthcare in the 21st century. Parastar manages the daily operations of eleven not-for-profit EMS companies nationwide, executes EMS billing solutions for both private and municipal EMS agencies, provides non-emergency and 9-1-1 emergency medical dispatch services, and consults worldwide on emergency medical services.Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Innovation and Business Ventures, my duties as the Web Design & Multimedia Manager for Parastar included website design and development, graphic design and brand management, social media monitoring, online marketing, and multimedia management for Parastar, Community EMS, and its nationwide network of affiliated ambulance companies.I resigned my management position with Parastar in October of 2015 to explore new opportunities in the Chicago area. The company was strategically positioning itself for a sale, which finally occurred a few years after I left.

Started by a group of friends in the Metro Detroit area in 2005, the anime and gaming convention known as Youmacon became one of the largest and fastest growing events of its type in North America, outselling the hotel rooms of Superbowl XL and managing to become the first and only single event to fill the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center - the tallest hotel in the western hemisphere - to its maximum capacity. To accommodate it's rapid growth, Youmacon expanded its event to include Downtown Detroit's Cobo Center (now Huntington Place) in 2012. During 2014, my last year with the event, Youmacon had an attendance of approximately 50,000 (turnstile reporting).As the Director of Media for Youmacon, it was my responsibility to oversee all marketing efforts, the event's public image, and coordinating with press. Responsibilities include website design and development, graphic design, image and brand management, managing convention photographers & videographers, creating and enforcing branding standards, and most importantly: increasing awareness and growing attendance.I resigned my director position effective December 2014 to pursue new projects, however I remained active with the organization as a consultant and contractor for several years after my departure.

Known for custom software solutions for big businesses, ComSpec's standout product, EMPOWER, is used widely in college computer systems across the U.S. and abroad. In my time at ComSpec, I took on various roles.As an On-Site IT Support Technician in Detroit, I was at the heart of IT operations - a separate business line, providing crucial support to nonprofit and minority-owned businesses. My duties included managing Windows Server environments, tackling malware, overseeing server backups, and troubleshooting computer issues.I also played a key role in enhancing EMPOWER. In this capacity, I delved into front-end development, working with tools like CSS, Subversion, Cold Fusion, and Joomla. I was also in charge of setting up Oracle databases and designing front-end themes, ensuring EMPOWER was both functional and visually pleasing.I left ComSpec to explore roles beyond IT support. Joining Parastar gave me the opportunity to merge my passion for design and development with the management skills I'd picked up in the food service industry.Following the retirement of its founder, ComSpec International was bought by Phoenix Innovate, who continues to support, build and expand EMPOWER.

In 2009, I co-founded Detroit Geeks, an IT repair shop based in Detroit. Our goal was clear: provide the local community, from everyday residents to businesses, with fast and reliable computer repair services at affordable prices.As a co-founder and lead technician, my hands were full. I tackled a wide range of hardware and software problems and ventured into web development, crafting custom websites for various needs. On top of the technical tasks, I also took the lead in marketing our services.Despite our dedication, the challenges of an ongoing recession and the rise of many similar shops in the area led us to close our doors in July 2011.
