Decent was founded to work on a simple problem that has a whole heck of a complicated solution - how do we provide affordable health insurance for all? ‍The American healthcare system is a labyrinthine of regulations and our software systems interfaces with all of it. With that backdrop, I am very proud of what we accomplished during my two years at Decent. I was responsible for transitioning our tech stack from one built to serve self-employed individuals to one one that serves small businesses. My team integrated and launched the first and only PEO (Professional Employer Organization) with an embedded TPA (Third Party Administrator).I loved the team at Decent and it was a hard decision to leave them to start my next adventure.

I joined Optimum Energy to build and market cloud-based software solutions that optimizing some of the world’s largest HVAC systems. Our team helped develop and deploy optimization solutions resulting in annual savings of over 200,000,000 kWh of electricity totaling $17 million which is carbon dioxide reduction of 133,000 metric tons.

Symform was a startup that built a secure cloud backup service that provided users with unlimited cloud storage and backup free-of-charge. It leveraged a unique peer-to-peer file storage mechanism. I was responsible for the development of the peer-to-peer agent and cloud infrastructure. Under my leadership, we launched an agent for consumer-grade Network Attached Storage devices.Acquired by Quantum Corp. (NYSE: QTM)

Napera Networks delivered a new breed of active network management services, powered from the cloud. Napera Insight, the company's flagship offering, was an online service that delivered enterprise-class performance and security management to small- and medium enterprises (SMEs). Lockdown Networks was a leading provider of Network Access Control (NAC) solutions that ensured all users and devices on the network comply with security policies.As a product development manager, I lead the team responsible for building Lockdown's flagship NAC appliance.

Managed an advanced R&D team that built software for the Watchguard Firebox. Lead the design and development of the VPN features of the WatchGuard Firebox. Conceived, designed and developed the first of its kind DNS proxy capable of thwarting the DNS exploits that topped the July 2000 SANS Top 10 Internet Security Vulnerabilities.

Co-developed second-generation motion control software used in NeoPath's automated image capture system using OOD (Booch), C++ and VxWorks.
