As the Operations Director for Port Edgar Watersports CIC I was responsible for the development and implementation of an activity programme for a new watersports centre based in South Queensferry, just outside Edinburgh.Now the largest and most active centre in Scotland, Port Edgar Watersports CIC offers training to children and adults, and activity includes sailing, paddlesports, power boating, and a variety of theory courses, as outlined by the relevant sport governing bodies. The role of the Operations Director is to supervise and support of the upper levels of Management who run the centre on a day to day basis, and to assist in recruitment, and support of the 40 seasonal staff whilst in employment. It was also important to develop links with local partners and colleagues, and to ensure that the organisation met its social objectives, which were to support those in the care system to access watersports activity.
