Chris Carnovale is an educator in Capilano University’s Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Management Programs and teaches courses in sustainability, cross cultural communications, as well as cultural and heritage tourism planning. His breadth of experience in the education, marketing and communications, hotel and accommodation, food and beverage, and adventure tourism sectors, as well as his involvement in a variety of international community-based and tourism-related projects in Vietnam, China, Tanzania, Paraguay, and Costa Rica is testament to his ambitions and leadership.Chris is intrigued in the power of tourism and continues to find solutions to harness its potential to do good. Most recently, he has managed the internationally recognized, PATA Foundation funded, Vietnam Tourism Training Project. The project enabled the development of sustainable community based tourism products and small enterprises in ethnic minority villages. Chris took a lead role in the management and training delivery on a project in partnership between Capilano University and the Inuvialuit Development Corporation in the Northwest Territories. Chris has a Masters in Community Development from the University of Victoria as well as a Bachelor of Tourism Management from Capilano University. Recently he was accepted into Simon Fraser University's Urban Studies' Post Graduate Program.
