Software development on DWDM Multi-service add/drop multiplexers for metro networks Designed and developed, using PERL, the tools to create SNMP code from MIB text files.Improved Alidian’s Command Line Interface (CLI) implementation using C++ objects.Documented, performed and automated Qualification Testing of embedded software.Automated the testing, using PERL, of Alidian’s Network Engineering & Planning tool.

Software development on a third generation Digital Subscriber Line ATM Multiplexer (DSLAM) with high capacity ATM switching.Developed self-diagnostics for the Inverse Mux ATM (IMA) chip for the Universal Edge Intelligent Multi Access System (UE IMAS) product line.Created an object interface, using C++, for 3rd party software, written in C that controlled the IMA chip.

Developed a REXX compiler and runtime engine. The runtime engine was integrated into the Data Translation engine.Used VC++, MFC to create a Graphic Data Mapping application.Worked with another designer to create the multiplatform Data Translation engine.Created numerous multiplatform utility applications to integrate, extend and enhance the Data Translation engine.2 years as a member of ACORD’s Architecture Review Board.Implemented ACORD’s object model using C++, COM, OLEDB, Access and PERL.

Contracted to Nortel Networks/Bell Northern Research for over three years. Architected and implemented the self diagnostics for the IRTU, a sub-processor of BNR’s AccessNode product used to test line cards. Improved both functionality and style of the interface code for the pSOS operating system used by the IRTU.Worked with a team of designers to implement the remote testing unit feature for AccessNode.

Developed and maintained real time software for integrated hardware control systems used to test the Space Shuttle and associated components for launch readiness using GOAL, a proprietary language used by NASA.Reduced GOAL development time from two days down to minutes by creating a compiler; runtime engine and debugger, using C on a UNIX workstation.Converted Shuttle hardware simulator from PASCAL to C allowing it to run on a UNIX workstation.
