Prior to joining Amazon, Christopher worked in the banking industry for 5 years collectively at Chase bank and then as a Senior Analyst at Goldman Sachs. After being promoted at Goldman Sachs, Christopher went back to college and earned an MBA from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business. During his MBA, he joined Amazon as an FLDP intern in the summer of 2018 within International Retail Finance where he successfully received a full-time offer by creating a new dataset and model which used AI image recognition to match similar retail ASIN products across countries, which provided never before seen insights into the drivers of the differences in Margin across regions at the lowest granular level.Christopher accepted a full-time offer after his FLDP internship and joined the AWS Infra Server team where he owned the end-to-end creation of the 1yr/3yr/15yr Server capex forecast, unit cost reporting by service/component/region, the SCM project (should-cost modeling) for controllership on component pricing, as well as headcount reporting. During the 2.5 years he was on the Server team, he became a subject matter expert on all server rack components, drastically improved all of the above-mentioned processes, and was promoted from Senior Finance Analyst (L6) to Finance Manger (L6.5) in Q1 of 2021.Christopher currently has ownership of the total EC2 Non-Spot External Compute Business, the largest business within AWS, which includes standard compute, high memory, EC2 Storage, and Hardware Accelerated/ GPU based instances, and was recently promoted to Principal Finance (L7). Christopher has made numerous improvements for EC2, including completely overhauling the demand planning process which now considers the timing of available Hardware Accelerated capacity, EC2’s fastest growing segment, and which is responsible for LLM (Large Language Models), GenAI, ML Training and Inferencing (Machine Learning), and AI (Artificial Intelligence).
