I joined Shorts in 1988, following 11 years of experience working for both the Inland Revenue and Chartered Accountants, including Grant Thornton, where I qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser.I was promoted to the position of Tax partner in 1995 and since then have been instrumental in the establishment of the financial services arm of Shorts, of which I am also a partner.Since its inception, the financial services department has achieved the status of Chartered Financial Planners, one of only a small minority of firms in the country to achieve this status.My role and objectives include• Leading our wealth management team, helping clients to protect their cash assets with efficient tax planning.• Providing clients with independent financial advice.• Assisting individuals to effectively plan for their retirement.• Advising clients on how to structure their Wills in a tax efficient way.
