He taught me perseverance and grit (working full time while taking night classes to obtain a Bachelors degree in Accounting), hard work and sacrifice (working two jobs when financial pressures demanded), and how to do more with less while maintaining balance (acquiring the knowledge necessary to perform high-quality home maintenance ourselves, and applying the cost savings to important strategic initiatives - like the annual family vacation).The foundation of my leadership principles were formed while earning the rank of Eagle Scout. I obtained a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering after joining the Army National Guard and applying my service benefits to tuition, fees, and student loans, while working a four year paid Co-op to cover the remaining costs. Thirteen years later, I earned a Masters degree in Engineering Management.
