Motivate and lead a team of 9 full-time professionals and 60+ part-time staff serving a growing county of 27,000 people. Administer a budget of $1,600,000 and oversee capital improvement projects of over $1.5 million for the department.Collaborate with other departments and local service organizations on community-wide special events including Family Day and Independence Celebration.Facilitate and serve on county committees including the Ralph Bunche Advisory, Census Complete Count, Infrastructure Advisory, and Parks & Recreation Advisory.Author and/or contribute to departmental, county, and regional reports such as the Parks & Recreation Needs Assessment, Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail Master Plan, GWRC Regional Trailways Plan, King George County Tourism Strategic Plan, King George County Comprehensive Plan.Develop succession plans for departmental leadership positions and prepare identified candidates for future promotions.Successfully collaborated with a contractor and other county staff to organize and operate a series of events for King George County's tricentennial concluding with a fireworks show and concert.
