I am a sustainable finance professional, ecological economics practitioner, and [former] scientist working to catalyze investment and innovation in the transition to a broadly prosperous, low-carbon economy. I currently serve as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer for Encore Renewable Energy, where I lead project finance and corporate investment activities for a tremendous team of mission-driven individuals.Previously, I served as Managing Partner of Deep Impact Capital, a boutique investment banking firm focused on impact enterprises in clean technology, climate infrastructure, and sustainable forestry and food. I completed my PhD at the University of Vermont’s interdisciplinary research program on smart grid energy systems, where I was a National Science Foundation Fellow. I bridged disciplines during my Master’s studies earning two degrees from Yale University, an MBA from the School of Management and a Master in Environmental Management from the School of the Environment. I also hold a BS in Environmental Science with honors from the UNC-Chapel Hill. I served as the Peace Corps in El Salvador, where I specialized in coffee-agroforestry systems.
