Inventor of one of key product patents. Hired as second employee of the company to create high-resolution imaging catheter (Optical Coherence Tomography, or OCT) for imaging stents and vulnerable plaque in coronary arteries. • Gathered customer requirements while observing cath-lab angioplasty and imaging procedures and interviewing cardiologists, nurses, physician assistants, technicians and patients.• Modeled (ZEMAX optical CAD software), designed and prototyped optics for focusing and directing imaging laser and developed a novel light-driven rotary system for catheter optics.• Designed and constructed optical measurement system (OCT) including fiber input catheter, signal acquisition hardware and signal and image processing software using LabVIEW.
