For many smaller insurance companies and fraternal benefit societies, we serve as their full-time actuarial department. For a wide variety of larger organizations, we engage in projects where their in-house actuaries desire some assistance or specialized expertise.I have 35+ years of industry experience, including many as a senior insurance company executive and some as an entrepreneur, which has resulting in me having an unusual blend of actuarial, sales, marketing, and operations experience in annuities, life insurance, long term care insurance, and retirement plans. That multi-disciplinary expertise allows me to see market opportunities that others don’t, then to build products, services, and distribution to capture them.I am particularly well-versed in creating success for carriers in independent distribution. For example, as the executive in charge of The Standard’s annuities line of business, I profitably doubled sales over a 3 year period by creating and implementing a strategy that used innovative product development and improvements to the business inspired by competitive benchmarking to attract new distribution.
