As a Staff Geologist I performed various geotechnical engineering duties:1. On-site construction/engineering inspection for major transmission line projects2. Wrote geotechnical reports3. Oversight and planning of geotechnical drilling projects (hollow stem auger drilling, mud rotary drilling, etc.)4. Conducted rock and soil sampling (rock core, split spoon, etc.)5. Operated seismic survey equipment and collect seismic data

I contributed to production of resistivity maps and energy exploration decisions through computer modeling, monitoring data quality, and field surveys. Duties included field deployment and maintenance of geophysical surveying equipment, processing of collected geophysical data, and development of Matlab code to model past and future geophysical surveys. Position required use of both 2D and 3D resistivity modeling codes, as well as competency in both Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems.

M.S. thesis title: Primitive and differentiated achondrite meteorites and partial melting in the early Solar System.Through detailed chemistry we are able to decipher the processes that led to the formation of meteoritic planetary materials and relate these processes to the formation of Earth materials (e.g. core formation, crustal evolution).Graduate studies also took me into the field in order to learn about terrestrial differentiation processes, and how these processes create economically viable geological deposits.Graduated February 2015

As a TA for Earth Sciences undergraduate classes I wrote homeworks, graded homeworks and exams, prepared and presented lecture material, and held office hours. Used Fortran to process satellite-collected gravity data in order to produce animated plate reconstructions of the Antarctic and Australian plates on multi-million year timescales. Position involved heavy use of Fortran, Bash/Unix, and Generic Mapping Tools (GMT).

This position involved general handyman duties, painting, construction/fabrication and demolition, laboratory equipment installation, laboratory equipment inventory and disposal, safe handling and delivery of chemistry supplies and chemicals to campus laboratories.

Worked with a crew of eight to complete back-country and front-country trail building projects for local, state, and federal lands. Position often involved extended unsupported back-country hitches (up to 11 days) which required high level of physical endurance and adherence to Leave no Trace principles. Position also occasionally required use of power tools and ability to complete construction projects for park headquarters maintenance projects.

Tutored mathematics students in a range of sub-subjects (from arithmetic to calculus) in one-on-one and group settings. I tutored students of every age and also tutored through language barriers. I consistently received positive feedback from students, trained new tutors, and performed administrative duties for the Study Center.

Managed and operated galley grill and performed deckhand responsibilities for large capacity sportfishing vessels The New Seaforth, and The Seawatch. Took on 100% of galley responsibilities: ordering supplies, cooking food, customer service, clean-up, cash handling, etc. Trips could have up to 100 passengers and lasted 6-12 hours. Deckhand duties included maintenance of rental gear, and unhooking, weighing, bagging, and gaffing fish.
