I am a board certified vascular neurologist. My expertise spans the world of cerebrovascular disease which includes both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. I practice out of the Rochester Regional Health system, where as part of the Stroke team, assess patients with acute stroke for treatment with thrombolytics or a mechanical thrombectomy upon presentation to the Emergency room. I then follow these patients through the entire process including a secondary stroke risk factor workup and subsequent follow-up as an outpatient at the RRH stroke clinic on site. It is this comprehensive care that is of utmost importance in serving my patients as there is always a familiar face around during this life changing moment. I am currently part of the improvement process of the acute stroke assessment and in a timelier, streamlined workup of a patient while admitted.At the same time I enjoy my position at this academic practice which provides me the opportunity to educate future physicians and APP students to practice evidence based medicine as they get exposed to the specialty of neurology.My research focuses on systems based improvement and the optimization of acute stroke care. I have given presentations on both the international and local level spanning from the International Stroke Conference to the local New York State Coverdell Stroke Quality Improvement and Registry Program.
