- Used SolidWorks to design robotic modules for use in -20C and -80C environments. Specified automation components including servo / stepper motors, gearheads, and feedback through encoders, sensors, and switches- Integrated automation technologies including Servo Motion Control (Elmo), EtherCAT I/O (Beckhoff), and Machine Vision- Lead a team of engineers through New Product Development process to create a custom -80C refrigeration module- Lead risk assessment and FMEA process efforts for robotics and ultra-low temperature (ULT) refrigeration modules- Restructured BOM strategy of BiOS product to allow Operations and Engineering to fulfill orders of custom system variants- Analyzed system behavior through logs, traces, and code review with the software team. As a product specialist, I was responsible for leading the service team’s support of the BiOS product. - Provided remote technical support to users and field service engineers. Used remote access from the Franklin office to perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and upgrades to BiOS systems worldwide.- Monitored the performance of BiOS systems at customer sites and reported trends and observations back to engineering. Worked with the software and sustaining engineering groups to test and validate improvements and fixes to the product. - Created an advanced training course to help skilled automation engineers and super-users gain autonomy with our product. Provided training opportunities both at Franklin headquarters and customer sites worldwide. This program greatly reduced the amount of costly on-site service visits by enabling users to perform service on their system with remote assistance from Franklin. - Worked in cooperation with Manufacturing and Engineering departments to improve in-house testing protocol on BiOS assemblies. Developed documentation for setup of BiOS devices prior to installation. - Traveled to customer sites to commission the BiOS prior to site acceptance (SAT). This includes teaching and configuring the robotics, setting up the software, and testing prior to SAT.- Performed Site Acceptance Tests with scientists, end users, and lab managers.- Supported Sales by creating a system configuration and pricing tool in Excel.
