Dr. Chris Dennis is a board-certified psychiatrist based in Miami, Florida, with extensive experience in clinical, operational, and leadership roles across health systems, managed behavioral healthcare, startups, and telehealth. Licensed in 49 states, the USVI, and DC, Dr. Dennis co-founded Minded, a NYC-based telepsychiatry startup, and now serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Pinnacle Treatment Centers, a leader in addiction treatment.Before joining Pinnacle, Dr. Dennis spent over a decade as Chief Behavioral Health Officer for Landmark Health, part of Optum Care Solutions, where he oversaw a nationwide mental health workforce focused on collaborative, integrated care for complex patients. His prior roles include Chief Medical Officer, Commercial Division, and SVP, Regional Medical Director at ValueOptions, then the largest managed behavioral healthcare company in the U.S., later acquired by Anthem.A strong advocate for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, Dr. Dennis has advised BioCare Recovery and is a Medical Advisor to Navigator Healthcare Inc. Clinically, he has led an inner-city Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program and was an attending emergency psychiatrist at Northwell Health, also serving multiple long-term care facilities in NY. He maintains a multi-state telepsychiatry practice.Dr. Dennis has been actively involved in various professional organizations, including serving on the board of The College for Behavioral Health Leadership, the Florida Psychiatric Association Telehealth Committee, and the NCQA Standards Committee, where he chaired the MBHO Advisory Committee and contributed to the Behavioral Health Measurement Advisory Panel.Dr. Dennis holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University and an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business (cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa). He was also an Associate Professor at SGU’s School of Management.
