The decision to study actuarial sciences in University led me to a career in the insurance industry here in Canada. Through my varied roles at Sun Life, along with my time spent in the start-up space, I've been focused on building teams and businesses that empower others and make an impact.I think great leaders clear a path for their people and set them up for success. They listen well and don't get lost in small details. They build relationships and know what moves the needle. I look to build teams of driven, creative people who have high ambition and low ego. I believe that when everyone is aligned and rowing in the same direction, amazing things can happen.When I'm not at work focused on helping Canadians live healthier lives, I'm doing the same for myself: golfing, running, and trying to hold on to my competitive volleyball skills.
