I'm continuing to develop vibrant research groups in exciting areas like wireless EV charging, RF exposure analysis, and radar.

Participated in the development of regulatory standards relating to radio-frequency (RF) exposure from novel technologies such as millimetre-wave (mmWave), massive MIMO and wireless power transfer (WPT). My work involved:- Creating and modernizing domestic standards relating to compliance of radiocommunication devices- Developing conservative assessment requirements for RF exposure via electromagnetic research, analysis and simulation- Contributing to the development of international standards as a member of various working groups in Technical Committee 106 of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC TC 106)- Liasing with various industry stakeholders, such as device and test equipment manufacturers, to provide guidance and evaluate the impact of proposed rulemaking- Collaborating with foreign regulators to facilitate harmonization of requirements- Attending conferences- Technical documentation

As an expansion to my role as Senior Electrical Researcher, I lead the RF research efforts of the engineering team. I also acted as the work-term supervisor for electrical engineering students who joined the team.

My primary role is to conduct research into electric-field-based wireless power transfer with the goal of developing low-cost, compact and high-efficiency products. While my work has mainly focused on the radio-frequency (RF) components of the system, I have contributed to every aspect of Solace's resonant capacitive coupling technology to ensure that the performance of the overall system is optimized. I have also been involved in the intellectual property (IP) aspects of the company. A summary of my work activities is as follows:- Electromagnetic modelling, simulation and experimental implementation of near-field wireless power transfer based on resonant capacitive coupling.- System architecture design.- Developing fixed and dynamic impedance matching techniques and algorithms.- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC): PCB design, compliance measurements and troubleshooting.- Design of high-frequency and high-efficiency power electronic circuits.- Team leadership and supervision of work-term students.- Developing, editing and defending patent applications.- Collaborating with university research groups.- Attending conferences and trade shows.- Technical documentation.

My primary role was the development of a sense and avoid (SAA) radar for safe unmanned aircraft operations. In addition to project management responsibilities, this involved:- Radar waveform selection;- Modelling (targets, clutter, propagation, etc.);- Coherent radar signal processor design (from IF to radar display);- Performance analysis;- Field testing;- Documentation.I also served as the general RF and wireless consultant for the company, performing duties such as:- Radio path loss modelling and range estimations;- Antenna selection / placement (ground-based or airborne);- Test and measurement of microwave devices;- Selection of radios and RF components;- Field testing;- Documentation.

Participated in research and development in the Radiating Systems Research Laboratory at the University of New Brunswick. My doctoral work focused on the areas of wireless communications, antenna design and microwave engineering.

Worked as a laboratory teaching assistant and marker for undergraduate courses related to electric circuits and systems, electronics, electromagnetics, robotics, instrumentation design, microwave engineering and communication systems.

Contributed to a variety of projects during the summer in the context of design and drafting. Proofread and revised company documentation.
