Served as sports writer and interim sports editor for Portsmouth, Ohio's local daily newspaper. Covered high school and collegiate athletics in southeast Ohio maintaining stats and standings, taking photos, conducting interviews, and building sports sections. Highlights included five NAIA national championship events, a state high school basketball championship, state cross country and track meets, and a multitude of district and regional competitions.
