My partner Cherie Ve Ard and I together run a small software development and consulting company focusing on interesting projects for select clients. We have done everything from competitive analysis and strategy work to website and application development, with clients ranging in size from large companies to small pre-funded startups.We have also produced a line of iOS applications for travelers. One of our apps - 'Coverage?' - has several times ranked in the top 5 navigation apps on the iOS AppStore.

Devised the launch strategy and was part of the founding core team of RVillage.com, a new social network for the RV universe that has since launch grown to have over 100,000 members.Though no longer involved in day-to-day activity, we continued on as advisors to the founder and CEO until the company was sold to Thor Industries in 2020.

We were brought on to craft and execute a strategy to launch mobile software startup HearPlanet. We handled all the marketing, evangelism, PR, and press outreach - as well as event planning for Macworld and even managing the beta release and testing program.The HearPlanet launch at Macworld 2009 was a spectacular success, and within a week we had beaten the likes of Yelp and CitySearch to rise into the top three travel applications in the iTunes App Store.

GeekSpeak is a weekly radio show broadcast on NPR affiliate KUSP in Santa Cruz, CA. I occasionally co-hosted the show, and served as a mobile technology correspondent.

I was the architect and visionary behind the PalmSource Installer technology, which was created to make it trivially easy for users to purchase and download applications directly onto a wireless device.

I was the Director of Competitive Analysis (aka ‘Chief Spy’) at Palm and then PalmSource. I was a major contributor to both the long-term strategic vision (including the decision to embrace Linux as a kernel), and short-term market positioning for the Palm OS platform. I was also an "official" Palm spokesperson, and was frequently traveling for press tours or to speak at industry conferences.

I was the Director of Online Services and one of the first employees at the hot-till-the-bubble-bursrt Linux-on-the-desktop start-up Eazel. At Eazel, I was responsible for everything from crafting launch strategies to keeping the servers alive through repeated Slashdottings.

Gateway (the owners of Amiga at the time) was preparing to relaunch and spin off a completely new Amiga division, and they hired me to build up a developer relations program from scratch around the new platform.Before I even started work, Gateway changed strategy on the Amiga platform - and decided that there would be no external developer outreach after all. Ultimately Gateway scuttled the whole project before any of the technology was ever publicly shown.The hefty signing bonus and immediate severance made my brief stint at Amiga the most lucrative few weeks of my career.

I was the Developer Relations Manager and Chief Evangelist of the pioneering 3D graphics company Rendition, responsible for both the developer relations team and Rendition’s relationship with the online enthusiast community.Rendition was acquired by Micron Technologies.
