Within the asbestos surveying department, day to day duties were to writing up reports from the findings of the asbestos surveys to expected high standard and to a great volume. AutoDesk AutoCAD was used to draw out floor plans of surveyed properties and display detected asbestos. An excellent telephone manner was required to deal with tenants’ enquires a book them in using Microsoft office software.

I was appointed this role due to my high marks during my degree. Based on a casual basis, I was subcontracted to undergo a number of shoots, most of which were staff and student portraits. I was required to interact with the client, to realise what exactly what they wanted and deliver in a quick and efficient manner. I was also re contracted by a number of clients as my work exceeded expectations.

Dealing with potential students coming to the university, it was vital to crate the best first impression possible for the university. Making the students feel relaxed was important as they may have had interviews, doing this ensured the student feels at home, which is crucial to recruitment to universities.

This job required preparing and partaking in opendays, recruiting students to the university before during and after clearing. This role was heavy on market research eg: researching university competitors. This role led to taking photographs for news stories events prospectuses, open day posters and also staff profile pictures which have been put up on display and uploaded to the university website.
