~ Prepares the annual development plan and budget, with specific emphasis on articulating revenue targets for major and planned gifts, tactical plans for cultivation and solicitation of major gifts~ Plan, coordinate and execute assigned fundraising efforts that focus annual gifts from individuals, companies and philanthropic foundations.~ Conduct prospect research in support of major gifts and foundation grants cultivation and solicitation efforts to advance existing donors and develop new donors .~ Plans and implements donor acknowledgement, recognition and cultivation activities to upgrade donors and identify major gift prospects.~ Works with the Special Event Manager to coordinate soliciting sales and sponsorships for special events and provides advice and direction as needed in planning and execution for benefit events.~ Provides staff support to the Board’s Development Committee, Associate Board, major event committees, and to other volunteer task groups involved in fund raising work.~ Ensures the integrity of the donor data base and its utility in segmenting, researching and targeting donors and maintains donor files and records.~ Works with the Manager of Volunteer Services to prepare volunteer and staff teams for solicitations.~ Organizes solicitation plans and approaches and participates in direct solicitation as appropriate.~ Nurtures network of contacts to enhance the Foundation’s ability to achieve its mission. (e.g. – local non-profit leaders, and other chapter and Make-A-Wish resources)~ Works at the direction of the CEO on special projects such as annual campaign, endowment fund, etc.~ Oversees the process of identifying grants and writing proposals for same.

This position plays a pivotal role as the organization develops an integrated annual giving and major gifts program and launches its Community Engagement Initiative. I am charged with general fundraising and stewardship activities with special emphasis on direct mail, corporate and foundation grants, and individuals. I also play a key role in developing and designing solicitation materials, and drafting correspondence and articles for publication. I am the Hospice representative of our Community Engagement Initiative, designed to reach out to and build alliances with communities with which we currently have limited connections.

~Raised over $900,000 annually.~Managed employee fundraising campaigns for over 200 organizations in Onondaga County. ~Managed and trained Loaned Executives to become successful solicitors.~Trained, inspired and motivated Campaign Coordinators to run successful and fun United Way Campaigns at their organizations.~Solicited numerous professional groups ranging in size from 10 to 200 using motivational fundraising presentations. ~Retained and recruited major donors for United Way of Central New York.~Managed key components of the Combined Federal Campaign, including event coordination.~Wrote monthly articles for organizational newsletters at various companies in my management portfolio.~Designed invitations and programs for fundraising appreciation events.Assisted in the organization of United Way Labor Kickoff Event (Annual Stuff-A-Bus).~Recruited participants for multiple United Way events, including the annual Kick Off Cookoff and Walk the Talk.
