As the Manager (Digital Experience) I am responsible for leading and managing the day to day operations of the Library’s digital systems, as well as planning for the integration of emerging digital technologies into USQ Library’s operations. Additionally, I ensure that the Library’s digital experience initiatives effectively use and embrace new technologies while building strong synergies and collaborations with the other technology development and support areas within USQ. Chairing two working groups at USQ which coordinate the optimisation of the library’s suite of content management systems; the Library Systems Working Group and the Library Systems Leadership Group. As chair, I facilitate the communication between teams, escalate strategic decisions to Library Executive and negotiate workload priorities. Responsible for coordinating the continuous service improvement of the library management system including the deployment of the course readings solution which integrates into the student learning management system. Provided leadership/guidance to a small service team ensuring that good practice service standards are implemented and the QUT Service objectives are delivered within agreed time, scope and budget constraints. Proactively managed the Service deliverables to meet business needs and comply with university standards, including the development of strategies, required service documentation, reporting, issue management, and opportunities in consultation with a variety of QUT administrative services, e.g. Service Reference Committee. Evaluated and continually improved processes and practices relevant to the service, including process design and implementation. Maintained skills in the technologies and business processes related to the service and remained aware of contemporary service practices.Coordinated service research and development activities as specified in the strategic and operational plans. Established partnerships with academic and professional staff in the faculties and consulted on the quality, continuous improvement and development of the service; this includes the faculty executive, academic and professional staff, as well as representatives of the student body.Managed stakeholder involvement in the service through the development of productive collaborations and a strong communication effort. This was particularly important in the development of the planned service improvements and change management activities such as pre-release communication and training, release of new tools or versions, dissemination of good practice, evaluation of projects and other activities.
