About Chriselle Tidrick
The success I have enjoyed along my nontraditional career path has been shaped by my creative problem-solving skills and my ability to move seamlessly between a broad vision and the myriad details required for successful program implementation. These abilities are key in the formal administrative work I perform, the creative projects I have undertaken, and the teaching roles I have fulfilled. As Program Associate at Emanu-El Downtown, I was responsible for event management, program development and coordination, financial coordination, and building community at Congregation Emanu-El's new satellite location in Chelsea. My organizational skills, my care and attention to detail with each of our programs and events, and my ability to balance competing demands were essential to the effective completion of my many responsibilities. As Coordinator of Contributing Scholars Programs at the Modern Language Association, I managed three contributing scholars programs for the department of Bibliographic Information Services. My ability to balance competing needs when coordinating the work being done by my colleagues with the work being done by scholars in the field was central to my role. Additionally, my ability to develop and implement new and improved processes and my facility with process documentation served the organization well during my employment and in the time since my departure.Under the auspices of my company, Above and Beyond Dance, I successfully created and produced four seasons of circus-infused dance with a cast of professional performers. I also choreographed and produced "The Limits of Escape" (2020), a dance film set on my Brooklyn fire escape. In addition, I created and presented aerial dance work for festivals including the Dzul International Dance Festival in Campeche, Mexico (2019); the Detroit Dance City Festival (2017 & 2018); the NYC Aerial Dance Festival (2010 & 2011); and the La Mama Moves Dance Festival (2009).As an innately curious person, I enjoy the challenge of learning new skills and integrating new information. As an experienced educator, I find satisfaction in supporting others as they develop their skills and abilities. I look forward to doing both as I grow into my new role as Coordinator, Programs and Events at the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society.
Listed skills include Performing Arts, Choreography, Dance, Theatre, and 19 others.
