Led the design & development from the ground up of a high-volume music related web site using Ruby on Rails. Worked on all aspects of the site from low-level model design all the way through high-level UI design using various Web 2.0 technologies, including Ruby on Rails, XHTML, CSS, and AJAX (primarily through the prototype library). Designed and implemented many UI framework elements for reuse by all members of the team. Handled large portions of the graphical design work for the site using Photoshop, Illustrator, and related tools.

Extended and enhanced the in-house framework with more flexible and re-usable user interface components. Began development of a HotSync conduit for the Macintosh to allow synchronization of the data from the VersaMail product. Led the design and implementation of a cross-platform application framework in C++, supporting Windows, Macintosh, and Pocket PC. Led the design and implementation of the Palm Reader application for reading eBooks on Windows, Macintosh, and Pocket PC based on the framework. Led the design and implementation of the eBook Studio application for Windows and Macintosh, a WYSIWYG editor for Palm eBooks based on the framework. Ran beta programs for the Palm Reader and eBook Studio applications. Provided 2nd level support to assist the technical support department with customer feedback and bug reports. Used the framework for the development of in-house tools to aid in the production of eBook content. Worked with our web development team to develop prototype applications for the integration of the Palm Reader application with the Palm Digital Media web site.

Developed a Java-based application framework to provide a common user experience across multiple platforms, including Windows and various Unix systems. Used the framework to lead the design and development of several user interface components for MATLAB, such as an array editor. Worked with a team in the design and development of a user interface and features for MATLAB on the Macintosh using C. Served as a point of contact for others in the company interested in learning Java programming and the use of the Java-based framework. Developed and taught a training course in the use of the framework.

Served as the QA lead for several products, including MapInfo for Macintosh and MapX, an ActiveX mapping component for Windows. Was responsible for tools development, including supporting the Macintosh platform in an automated testing environment using MapBasic and Frontier. Developed a bug tracking database application using Visual FoxPro.
