Hello I’m Chris. I was born in Sacramento with a proud Peruvian heritage. I graduated with a Nuclear Engineering B.S. and began the Nuclear Engineering MEng (Master of Engineering) program at UC Berkeley with a specific focus on nuclear materials. Before graduating I was involved in a broad range of projects, including but not limited to: superconducting materials for fusion and accelerator technology, SMR deployment in the Caribbean, and HALEU fabrication analysis. After graduation, I had the opportunity to hold a research internship position at SCK CEN, the Belgian Nuclear Research Center, in Mol, Belgium for the summer. There, I focused on liquid metal corrosion of structural material and cladding for the MYRRHA Project and SMR development. I am now a GSRA in the Accelerator Tech-Applied Physics division at LBNL.
