• Serve as the Congressman’s primary policy advisor before the House Appropriations Committee, specifically the Transportation and Housing & Urban Development Subcommittee where he serves as Ranking Member• Plan, develop, and implement public policy objectives for the Congressman• Manage broad portfolio of policy issues including appropriations, transportation, housing, energy, environmental protection, public lands and natural resources, and humanities• Coordinate with Committee staff in drafting appropriations bills, preparing for hearings, and highlighting priorities• Meet with relevant stakeholders including industry groups, agency officials, non-profit organizations, local government officials, and constituents to receive input and recommendations on public policy priorities• Implement and manage long-term and short-term legislative planning for the office• Draft talking points, letters, and statements on behalf of the Congressman covering a wide range of topics• Lead the legislative and communication staff to ensure the team advocates for and advances identified priorities• Represent the Congressman in speaking engagements and meetings in Florida and D.C.
