Starting out as a desk editor for MacDonald Educational I learnt the hard way with a tin of Cow Gum and a scalpel. I created editorial packages from the bottom up, involving design, illustration and photographic elements. After a stint at Dorling Kindersley I switched to design, having discovered the ability of the Mac to set type which was my epiphany. Coming in at the beginning of electronic publishing I have brought my editorial skills to bear on the development of better books, using the ever-expanding range of tools available.Today I continue to pursue book design as a freelance, but also publish paperbacks, using print on demand (POD).I live in London, England, having spent many years based in the USA.chrisfayers.com
