    Established a Greenfield Site facility for Alexandria Precision Products in Suzhou, China that specialized in Machining and Welding Operations. Parts were 50% Aluminum & 50% Steels. Key process is machining but delivered finished parts with surface treatments such as heat treat or coatings such as high phosphorus nickel, hard-coat anodize and regular anodizing. Precision machined products that we delivered were aluminum parts for the Aerospace industry, aluminum extrusions for the Medical industry, tool steel parts for Power Tool industry and multiple special projects.- Managed the financials, production, quality and delivery of products for volume production as well as direction of work at suppliers.- While in Suzhou, I worked with the Manufacturing Engineering Team in the United States to develop and install manufacturing processes in China. Developed 5 manufacturing engineering team members who coordinate the work with US team to innovate and develop common processes for implementation in China.- Implemented operations involving installations of CNC machines, corresponding programming, production tooling, welding equipment, implementation of quality systems, training of work-force and capacity planning.- The installation of equipment, personnel and systems involved significant elements of program management and budget management. This involved not only internal controls and timelines, but involved qualification and bringing on-line various vendors. - Working with the vendor sourcing and supply chain managers, I have been able to seek appropriate help in reducing bottlenecks, quality concerns and costs. These items include Raw Materials, Cutting Tools, Surface Treatments, Welding and other factors that are important to running smooth operations.- Implemented and managed a ISO 9001:2008 Certification.

    Role Involved: Implementation & Installation of New Equipment, New Processes, New Tooling, Capacity Improvements & Quality Improvements. - Responsible for all CNC processes on 24 machining centers. These responsibilities included the machine performance, product quality and the operator’s ability to perform at the quoted rate. This also linked the machine processes to the profitability of each part.- Managed 7 Application Technicians, 4 Quality Control Inspectors and 2 Tool Crib Attendants. This team assisted in the monitoring and repair of the production processes produced on the CNC machines. - Developed and Implemented a new strategy to reduce new product development lead time. In the beginning, each person had their area of focus. This process proved to cause delay’s based on lack of understanding of how each person was thinking. I took that process and cross trained all individuals to complete a process from start to finish. This added accountability and learning experiences to each person.- Managed cutting tool purchases and performance. The results of this showed to be positive. With the team I managed, we were able to reduce costs and improve cycle times on the CNC machines. Researching new technology and testing different tools for applications, helped us to make good decisions on which tools fit each application best.- Created part price estimates. This included reviewing customer drawings and developing an imaginary process to produce the product and applying a cost to that process.- Implemented, with a team, Robotic processes on NC machining centers. The results of this team included 4 robotic cells with a total of 6 CNC machines. These cells were designed to fit a short run demand. The average set-up time was 30 minutes on these cells. Capabilities included 3, 4 and 5 axis machining.

Turnkeys included 4 Valve Cylinder Heads for Diesel engines, Lens for eyeglasses, Medical instruments and other similar projects.

    CNC Programmer / Production Tooling Lead - Created and designed complete part processes for CNC machines. These part processes included aluminum extrusion parts for the medical, heat sink, transportation and many other industries.- Managed 2 Tool Designers and 5 Toolmakers. This group was responsible for the design and build of production tooling and fixtures. These would include everything from simple vise jaws to complex punch press dies.- Managed the schedule and lead times for new production projects.CNC Programmer / CNC Set-up Person- Created CNC processes for aluminum extrusions. Using SurfCAM ’99, I created CNC programs for machining centers. I was also responsible for the outcome of these programs. If the machine rate did not compare to the quoted time, I needed to review the process and determine what the root cause was to the difference.- Created probing processes for machine processes. With the use of Renishaw Probing systems and Macro programming, we were able to reduce set-up time and improve product quality on our machining centers. - Completed minor machine maintenance concerns. These concerns included machine malfunctions and some component failures.CNC Set-up Person- Set-up machining processes for 11 CNC machining centers and 3 turning centers.- Completed first article inspection on set-up parts.- Monitored processes during the set-up process for improvement ideas. These idea’s were then communicated back to the designers and programmers for improvement changes.CNC Operator- Operating CNC machining and turning centers. Ran production on high and low volume orders.- Completed minor set-ups and changes on processes. This included changing tools, fixtures and inserting programs into the machines.- Responsible for in process inspection. Completed and documented inspection results for key dimensions listed in the work instructions.
