Chris is passionate about affecting change for the better through process and technology innovation. He has strong business acumen and is also familiar with a wide spectrum of technologies both mainstream and emerging. In particular, he is interested in technology driven innovation that decentralizes and disintermediates existing business models to improve inclusion, reduce costs, and increase efficiency and transparency.Having completed a Master of Science in Technopreneurship and Innovation in mid-2018 (NTU, Director’s List), he spent the next 6 months co-founding a pre-seed startup to automate greenhouse gas reporting and verification using distributed ledger technologies under the Entrepreneur First (EF) incubator program. He also experienced starting up a stable cryptocurrency project (developed from TechStars Startup Weekend hackathon) and a Farm-2-Fork, crowd impact investment project (developed during his NTU Master program) from conceptualisation through prototyping and pre-seed fundraising. Chris is now Co-founder of Fefifo, spearheading co-farming as a new model to disrupt and democratise the US$159b contract farming industry with a mission to make sustainable, profitable, smallholder farming commonplace.Prior to his journey to learn and experience technopreneurship and innovation, Chris had over 12 years of experience in technology governance and risk management across a number of major financial institutions and professional services firms. His last position held was as Vice President of Internal Audit in Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund – GIC, where he was deeply engaged for assessing technologies that were either innovative or meant to support innovation. Chris has strong experience in engaging senior stakeholders and possesses traits that allow him to easily recognise opportunities and the challenges they present. He is able to solve complex business issues, assess situations accurately, and effectively allocate available resources. He possesses a growth mindset, remains resilient in the face of challenges, and is able to secure buy-in to directives and convince others to follow his lead.
