KishHealth System merged with Northwestern Medicine in Dec. 2015. Led KishHealth System’s efforts to transform the culture into a lean/continuous improvement environment. Responsibilities included: vision casting, strategy deployment, infrastructure development, leadership development, leading the organization’s executive steering committee, leading the organization’s team of coaches and trainers. • Consistently managed a portfolio of 5 - 7 active improvement projects • Led a 24 member multi-disciplinary team to establish a 12-bed intermediate care unit, ensuring the appropriate level of inpatient care is being delivered in an effective, patient-friendly manner. • Led an improvement team that achieved a 114% increase in the capture rate of email addresses at the point of patient registration to improve sample size for patient satisfaction surveys. • Led various improvement teams focused on patient satisfaction scores, moving them from the bottom quartile to the top quartile.• Led numerous other successful performance improvement projects

Collaborated with department leaders and staff of revenue cycle functions to facilitate process improvement to ensure achievement of goals and objectives. • Led efforts to engage various clinical departments on updating their CDM, reviewing charging and billing practices, improving charge capture processes, the sum total of which resulted in projected additional $3,500,000 in billed revenues. • Facilitated patient access departments to increase “point of service” collections, netting an increase in collections of more than $500,000. • Led medical records department to analyze and identify why claims were being held up, eventually reducing the volume of claims with errors by 48%.• Led an effort with various revenue cycle departments’ leadership and staff (Patient access, Registration, Business Office) to establish process controls, which resulted in an increased percentage of complete and accurate patient registrations • Led numerous other successful performance improvement projects

As the administrator of the Hauser-Ross Eye Institute and Surgicenter (owned and operated by KishHealth System) my responsibilities spanned all facets of the organization, including strategic planning, managing the daily operations, financial management, marketing, physician relations, contract management, and regulatory compliance. As the administrator I managed the process of creating and constructing the Hauser-Ross Optical, which was a state-of-the-art optical dispensary.

Assisted doctors in opening new office locations. Provided practice owners with daily operational management of their offices. Worked with doctors and staff to identify and address opportunities to improve operations, reduce costs. Managed the process of getting doctors set up in practices of their own. Successfully recruited additional doctors to existing practices.

Managed all operations of this eight doctor/eight location provider of ophthalmic and optometric medical and surgical services. Established an employer-provided optical discount card program resulting in nearly 100% increase in sales revenues in the optical department.
