I am most knowledgeable in dry break/dry disconnect and safety breakaway couplings, also composite and industrial hoses.     My role is to raise the profile of the Manntek Brand and the awareness of Manntek's products/services throughout the UK and Ireland. Our main market segments include Chemical (inc Adblue), Pharmaceutical, Food, Beverage (spirit and beer), hydrocarbons including Oil, LPG, LNG (cryogenics), Aviation, Road and Rail Tankers, Marine and Offshore, Military and Power Generation. I will be allocating quality time for conducting trials and introducing the Manntek safety products to new markets and end users. I am looking for new opportunities and applications for our entire 'best in class' product range whilst continuing to support our existing distributer network and partners. Gave myself a slightly optimistic goal of increasing Turn Over x 3 over my first 5 year period. As of the end October 2017 ( 4 years in) we are on track to achieving that goal by the end of 2018.     Joined 4 months after a full factory re-location from Sweden to Margate UK. Assisted the Emco Wheaton Margate Senior Management team with the challenge of integrating the Todo production and sales into the existing Margate Emco facility. Restructured and organised the new international sales team and provided clear SMART goals for each Todo employee and the Sales Department in general. Introduced and implemented a new Customer Services Department to act as the hub between the customer and each internal department including Production, Procurement, Design Engineering, Finance and Quality Assurance. Completed the overhaul of the company’s product pricing mechanism from list pricing to matrix discounting by customer category. Established good communications and relationships with existing major global distributors identifying area's for growth within the existing distributor network. Provided experience, guidance and direction for the embryonic UK internal and external Sales Team. Developed and implemented the company's strategy for growth within the Offshore, Chemical, Industrial, Transport, food and beverage and Gas/cryogenic markets. Worked closely with the new Design Engineering team on new and exiting product developments to fill gaps and compliment the existing product range. Reluctantly resigned my position due to the weekly 320 mile trip from Merseyside to Margate and back every Sunday and Friday evening (with no possibility at the time to work partially from home) and the toll that was taking on family at an important time for my teenage children. Hence only 7 (albeit happy) months.

    Helped choose location and unit for start up, recruited a team for the admin and works, ensured compliance for the new business in financial, health and safety and product regulation/international standards. Chose equipment for manufacturing and testing, designed new hose products, procured quality but economic materials for the manufacture of composite hose at a much lower cost than the group based in Canada and USA had previously enjoyed. Set up a network of distributers for our composite hose and dry break couplings throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East and SE Asia. Successfully promoted the specialist lines of ducting and rubber hose manufactured in Canada and the USA. Oversaw the implementation of ISO 9001 and composite hose standard EN 13765:2010. Successfully managed a lean production facility with a good middle management team in place up until my exit from the business in January 2013.

    Responsible for recruiting and managing senior sales managers and the inside and outside sales team and the Marketing Dept. During the latter 7 years of my employment I was responsible for the purchasing department also. I joined Dantec at 17 years old in 1981 as a Purchasing Assistant and left 25 years later as one of the three owners of the business. My main role from the age of 26 as the new Sales Manager was to promote the fledgling Composite Hose and dry break coupling business by developing a network of distributers in the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and SE Asia. At the age of 28 I was rewarded for my efforts with a promotion to Sales Director and continued the good fight propelling Dantec from a remote 6th place in the world composite hose manufacturers league to the global market leader at the time I left the business. I also enjoyed the manufacturing side of the business and gained much experience on product development. In 2001 I restructured the business with another Director transforming the £4m turn over company from a £40k-£50k gross profit business to a £400k to £500k gross profit business within 2 years. I was consequently (together with my co Director) offered a seat at the table for the subsequent management buyout.
