We have recently changed our company name to reflect the development work we do, particularly using Microsoft technologies. We undertake a variety of projects for clients, some of whom prefer not to be identified (for reasons of commercial sensitivity):Complete Business Solution This project involved the specification of a complete business solution covering Marketing, Sales, Finance and Customer Service. It included the development of a Microsoft.Net browser interface; incorporation of client specific loyalty bonus scheme and 3rd party API’s plus dynamic reporting within the solution.Business Intelligence/Reporting The project involved linking into an existing accounts and stock control system to extract and transform data into a suitable format for reporting purposes. Automation of month end financial reporting by generating a complete report with supporting detailed data analysis within Excel; generation of automatic reports for sales reps, and additional data recording and reporting on production processes to improve stock and financial control within the production environment.Integration of SystemsThe client had two separate systems holding production related information which were not compatible. Our solution accessed information from both systems to generate consolidated information with full batch traceability and tracking, thereby eliminating the previous time-consuming and error-prone manual data entry.Excel Analysis/AutomationDevelopment of complex Excel macros to import and process maintenance information from a 3rd party database and automatically email it to designated sub-contractors to complete allocated maintenance tasks. Data was imported and transformed/grouped by asset type and location; routines developed to determine whether planned maintenance activities were due to be undertaken and finally an Excel file for each sub-contractor, containing a works order for each asset to be maintained, was generated, grouped by asset location.
