Newcrest Cadia Expansion Project - Cadia Valley, Nsw

ACG provides engineering, construction and maintenance services to the mining, refining and civil sectors. They were contracted to provide management and craft services for expansion of Newcrest’s Cadia Valley copper and gold processing operation, including mine, materials handling system and infrastructure upgrades. Employed as an SMP Superintendent, core role deliverables included:► Greenfields/Brownfields environment, managing structural and piping pre-works for mini and major shutdowns, as well as construction and installation of new floatation buildings, horizontal and vertical mills, cyclones, hoppers, medium to large size pumps, fire protection systems and interconnecting piping, and major tie-ins of new equipment to existing facilities► Direct management of 4 Supervisors, each supervising 12-man crews made up of pipe fitters, boilermakers, special class welders, mechanical fitters, riggers and T/A’s, ensuring the supervisors had all the skills and resources to drive performance and high-quality outcomes through their teams, and delegating work packs for field execution► Worked closely with client representatives to mitigate delays to availability of equipment and materials for construction and pre-shutdowns, as well as with the Hydro Testing Department and NDT technicians for field testing and final sign offs, and with the Construction Manager to ensure jobs were being completed on-time ► Planned field system walk downs to allow final ITR/FTR sign-offs with client and handover to Commissioning Department► Compared schedule against productivity and reported detailed delays during weekly schedule meetings.

Bhpb Olympic Dam Scm21 Shutdown (Including Pre-Shutdown) - South Australia

☛ Pre-Shutdown Works► Built work packs and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for the Client pertaining to pre-shutdown requirements, with the focus being on the piping and mechanical scope for electric anode and flash furnaces in the Smelter Building, which were scheduled for major shutdown for preventative maintenance and inspection works in September 2021► Managed a team of 5 Supervisors through the planning and scheduling of pre-shutdown works requiring execution prior to the main shutdown, and worked collaboratively with client (BHP) and company (Monadelphous) stakeholders to mitigate delays for equipment, materials and consumables in readiness for the main shutdown► Attended weekly client and company meetings to confirm schedule, and engaged lower-tier contractors to ensure contracted works were delivered safely, on-schedule, and within budget► Prepared task/specific permits and associated certificates for various work areas, and ensured accuracy of suchWorked closely with HR and recruitment personnel to process and mobilize white and blue-collar workers.☛ Major Shutdown Execution (Commenced in August)► Brownfields and Greenfields works, including de-construction of existing piping and mechanical equipment, and re-instatement of new jacket water cooling piping circuits and mechanical equipment throughout the smelter building► Worked with assigned engineers for field issues to fast track RFI’s, NCR’s and SI’s with the client, and with materials laydown yards and site workshop departments to ensure on-time delivery of materials to mitigate delays► Managed hydro testing, flushing and re-instatement of piping systems through to final handover for commissioning teams► Attended weekly company, client and contractor site safety visits/audits to ensure personnel complied with site procedures ► Requested assistance from the QA/QC department for site testing and sign-off to assist with handover to completions.

► Leading 60 direct reports including 8 SMP supervisors and engineers, as well as civil, NDT, painting, surveying, cranes/load testing and line blowing subcontractors, ensuring all piping construction works for Train 1 AGRU/Train 1 LNG (including SIMOPS) were delivered in-line with construction schedules, milestone dates, client and regulatory QA/QC Standards► Working with the Engineering Department to develop work packs for field issue and execution, with the Materials and Workshops Department to ensure on-time delivery of materials to mitigate delays, and with the QA/QC Department to ensure handover to completions teams for final testing and re-instatement works► Managed the installation of all vendor (GE) and client (JKC) pipe works for PR, MR and EFG compressors, as well as MCHE and de-methanizer columns, and all process piping from the AGRU (Acid Gas Removal Unit) to the incinerator► Prepared and managed sweep paths for the safe movement and placement of pre-fabricated modules, and managed the installation off all associated hook-up piping ►Worked closely with the civil contractor for completions of UG pipe works (services) to allow initiation of AG scope.

► Managing, supervising and supporting 3 main EPCM Contractors (CKJV, Leightons and GE) for the SMP packages they were contracted to deliver for LNG Trains 2 and 3, ensuring the EPCM’s appropriately maintained all schedule, cost, resourcing and project deliverables as per the scope of their contracts ► Managed field construction works of the LNG import pipelines into the processing plant (Train 2/3 AGRU/Train 2/3 LNG), as well as complex and diverse SIMOPS activities, and ensured full material traceability for code requirements ► Ensured all Barrow Island specific requirements of an ‘A’ class nature reserve were followed by all personnel to minimise the impact of the project on a sensitive surrounding environment (and same for the 2 roles below)► Oversaw welder qualification processes, consulted on welding procedure adaptation and suitability, and managed and directed QA/QC inspectors through QA/QC management processes ► Attended weekly construction, production and progress management meetings, and produced weekly reports for the Senior Construction Manager (and same for the 2 roles below)► Managed work packs for pre-determined scopes of work (from development through to client acceptance and hand-over)► Attended IIF site safety committee weekly meetings and assisted with IIF team programs (and same for below role).
