OpenAQ runs a unique open-source data platform used by stakeholders around the world to fight air inequality. By filling a basic air quality data access gap, getting the data into the hands of people who can use it (such as scientists, advocates, policymakers, journalists, and app developers), and providing training on how to interpret and use the data to advocate for air pollution solutions, OpenAQ is addressing one of the biggest public health and human rights issues on the planet: air pollution is the #1 environmental factor in early deaths and contributes to many diseases. 99% of people worldwide are breathing polluted air, and low- and middle-income countries suffer from the highest levels of exposure.
