I served in a contract position with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, managing Microsoft Windows servers with a focus on Active Directory services. I was the technical lead for a team that manages a Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services infrastructure with global scope, multiple domains, and thousands of users. I established myself as a subject matter expert in Windows Systems Administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy. During my tenure as team lead, management awarded my team members 8 times for outstanding service.I managed Identity and Access Management services in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements. I designed and implemented new security controls for privileged accounts to mitigate against the "pass-the-hash" vulnerability. I implemented many new group policy settings while maintaining application functionality. The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Director recognized me as a key contributor towards MDA achieving the highest rating in a DoD security inspection.I completed a project to upgrade Active Directory from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2. I overhauled Group Policy infrastructure to make it less complex and process faster. I built and tested Group Policy Objects to enable secure and compliant deployment of Windows Server 2012 R2 member servers and domain controllers. I designed and implemented dozens of change packages following ITIL processes, improving functionality and/or reducing risk, while minimizing customer impacts.I successfully resolved complex problems with smart card authentication services, Distributed File System Namespaces, and Domain Name System (DNS), improving system stability and eliminating inconvenience and frustration for thousands of customers.
