Chief Information Officer
CurrentSince joining in 2014, I have helped transform both the technology that EPE uses, and also how we use it. Through a series of ambitious projects, the IT team has been working with stakeholders across the organization to identify business goals and then deploy solutions to achieve them. During my tenure, EPE has redesigned the mobile interface of the site to better serve the audience, launched an entirely new publication entitled Market Brief to address a need for more information on the K-12 marketplace, and overhauled many of the internal systems used by staff which has resulted in a more effective, mobile workforce. I, in conjunction with my many talented colleagues, am now focused on a complete transformation of the Edweek.org online platform and user experience. Education Week began as a print publication over 30 years ago and successfully made the transition to the web in the early 2000’s. Since that time, the organization has continuously adapted to a shifting tech landscape, as well as the constantly evolving demands of the readers. The pace of this change has only been accelerating and the time has come for EdWeek to make a revolutionary step forward. Most recently, I have been working to set the stage for a successful transformation of the systems and processes that deliver EdWeek’s content, which will entail a complete redesign of the interface and the platform on which it is built. To prepare for this lofty suite of projects, we have recently revamped project collaboration and task management tools, led a major discovery and strategy initiative, and have been working to realign IT staff and resources. This kind of work is what has always drawn me to work in the technology field. I enjoy learning and problem-solving. I am optimistically looking forward to the challenges and opportunities to come.
