Chris Hanson entered the real estate marketplace in 2008 when he formed Hanson Capital Group, LLC (“HCG”) as an auction bidding service provider for institutional clients, focused on the foreclosure market. Clients included Invitation Homes, Fortress, Waypoint, and American Homes for Rent. After successfully acquiring 1500+ single family residences on behalf of our residential clients, Chris saw the opportunity to increase bidding business through the facilitation of acquisition funding, so he started Hanson Capital, LLC (“HC”). Through HC, Chris was able to scale HCG’s business to the next level.Shortly thereafter, HCG began acquiring single family residences across the country on its own behalf. Chris formed GCHC Investments LLC with a partner to act as a direct marketing company to source distressed or discounted real estate and to help scale HCG’s single family residence acquisitions. Within twenty-four months of forming GCHC, HCG bought and flipped over 200 properties across multiple states around the country. This scale continued, and over the next several years, HCG bought and flipped another 400 properties. Despite the scale created by GCHC, HCG transitioned away from residential real estate to commercial real estate in 2016 to scale even faster. HCG initially focused on small value-add multifamily properties, and ultimately grew into a fully integrated private equity firm that repositions and develops retail, industrial, and multifamily properties. To date, HCG has bought and sold over 2000 single family residences and over 1000 multifamily units. HCG has since moved away from the buy-and-flip model in favor of the buy-and-hold model. HCG currently owns and manages over $250M of multifamily, industrial properties, and retail property.In addition, HC now has banking licenses in multiple states and continues to operate as a hard money / and full service capital markets provider. HC is responsible for over $300M in debt transactions since its opening in 2010.
