A little bit of everything in the security space ranging from security operations to helping embed foundational components such as processes and governance. Other neat stuff has been to continue to develop and uplift ESR M365 security capabilities, mature and improve risk assessments and lastly but not least evolve the cyber detection and response areas - in essence NISTify where pragmatic, sensible and required.

In a multifaceted environment, I provide key strategic security advice to develop and enhance the security portfolio within Fujitsu across Oceania as well as contribute valuable information technology and security leadership to Fujitsu's customers. With strong communication both internally and externally, I evolve security roadmaps in a milestone orientated plan of action which is designed to achieve long-term overall security flexibility, performance and efficiency. By assessing the culture, process, technology and people my vision at each customer is unique and yet pivoted around a centralised model to attain productive efficient outputs.Within the role I carry out the following functions (these are guidelines and are by no means exhaustive): • Service catalog creation • Cost modeling of new services • Customer audits both technically and framework based • SIEM deployments and consultation • Develop and mature customer security strategies • Head author for security ROI, RFP and bid responses • Cultural advocate for security across all business areas within Fujitsu • Creator of security policies, frameworks, life-cycles, and reports • Assorted security implementations and configurations of many technologies • Security certification and accreditation lead auditor and consultant • Enterprise risk management enabler for customers and risk governance advisor • IT security manager for Fujitsu government platforms

A VPN solution that actually gave users unique certificates so that privacy and security was guaranteed. After raising the bar in the VPN industry and using a clean and simple client interface the business grew to over 1000 customers. It started as a back room hobby and then became a source of income whilst travelling. It was a refreshing new role for me in marketing, backend programming and network configuration. It proved very challenging to adhere to cross border legal requirements and to secure backend end services but with an excellent team set around the world this proved to be a very exciting and enthralling project.

Initially ING Direct local security officer and then progressed to an overarching role for the support and creation of policies, procedures, and projects within the scope of IT security and security audits to ING business units worldwide. Main roles included:• Represent ING Group or ING Direct towards relevant external parties (peers in other banks, regulators, IT industry peers, and academic researchers) for architectural topics,• Guide ING Direct business units on complex or out-of-control projects,• Initiate and lead market and vendor studies,• Defined and developed architectural projects,• Advise general management and board members on issues.• Initiate and lead ING Direct Task Forces and Expert Groups,• At own initiative define and develop architectural projects• Project management of global security projects• Arranged yearly global security ethical hacks, conferences and audits

Main tasks involved creating demand for services and products that were specifically security orientated to fit existing and new customers Microsoft architecture. In house training and workshops for account managers and sales helped to drive a business case to customers.
