I answered phones and entered data for the Small Animal Emergency Clinic at Michigan StateUniversity’s Veterinary Medical Center. As a part of a team of 4 Receptionists in a night, my job included overseeing and leading the younger receptionists on site. I dealt with 100s of clients daily who were going through some of the most stressful times of their lives. It was important to stay calm and kind when dealing with people who are having some of their worst days.

I edited and reviewed lecture videos at Michigan State University, typing closed captions for videos assigned to me, through the platform Kultura Mediaspace. I remotely was in contact with my supervisor and caption team five days a week, picking up and finalizing the captions for lecture videos assigned to me. This position was mainly to help out students with auditory learning disabilities. I learned to pay extreme attention to detail through this position, typing every single word spoken in the videos.

Worked as an administrative assistant at Michigan State University, working closely with the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education. Worked proficiently in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office, while scheduling and emailing mainly through Microsoft Outlook.

I oversaw a floor of 53 residents in Mary Mayo Hall, facilitating information and events forFreshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors on my floor. As a part of a team of 30 RA’s, a team of 12 RA’s in a sub-staff, and four other RA’s in my hall; my job included organizing community wide events and being a confidant for those on my floor. Using my outgoing and empathetic nature, my work as a Resident Assistant at MSU made students feel comfortable and important on a campus of over 50,000 individuals.

As a Golf Cart Attendant, I arrived to the course around 6 am to help my colleagues open the course on time. I was assigned on the detail team to ensure that all Golf Carts were up to clients standards before they went out on the course. I interacted with hundreds of golf clients of all backgrounds and made sure they were set up to have a great experience at our golf course.

I managed a staff of ten student employees and assisted the director of MSU Parent Orientation in running the program five days a week. I would arrive early in the morning and help my staff set up for the six-hour Orientation program. After setting up, I would assist the Director of the Program in running the Program. In some cases, I ran the program completely by myself while managing a staff of fifteen student employees. This was the first job that truly taught me the importance of leading with empathy to maximize efficiency.
