As Regional Sales Director, Asia for Rusal, the world's second largest aluminum company by primary production output, I led 4 sales offices across China, Japan, Korea, and Singapore with a staff of 20+ people.I held P&L responsibility for Asian sales offices, headcount, allocation of sales volumes by country and customer level.SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS► Increased the sales of VAP aluminum by 50%+ in just 2 years.► Launched rep office in Korea and established the Asian regional sales office.► Led 20+ people-strong sales force in Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, and Shenzhen delivering $1~1.5B in revenues.

As Vice President Sales & Marketing, Base Metals in the APAC region for Vale, a world leader in the mining sector with operations in over 30 countries, I oversaw the nickel market with revenues of $1.5~2B which made up almost 50% of global nickel revenues. I led 130+ people across 5 sales offices in China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand as well as 2 nickel refineries in China and Taiwan.SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS► Transformed the Asia sales organization and implemented new sales strategy in Southeast Asia.► Relocated sales office from Hong Kong to Singapore with zero customer disturbances and a 100% employee retention rate.► Introduced a ‘best-in-class’ benchmarking project for 2 sister refineries to improve costs and increase safety records.

In this dual role as Vice President Sales & Marketing, China and President Operations, China, Base Metals Division, I held full P&L, cash flow, and budget responsibilities for China sales office, 4 downstream operations, and 1 nickel refinery.SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS► Increased sales premiums for plating nickel in China by 400% in 2 years by switching to short-term contracts.► Launched a Chinese nickel refinery on time and on budget and streamlined Chinese operations. ► Turned around 2 loss-making nickel foam operations.

During my time as CEO Umicore Shanghai, China, a Chinese subsidiary of a global materials and technology group out of Belgium, I led all operations, sales, daily management, and interaction with Chinese JV partners with a staff of 150 employees.SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS► Generated 24% ROCE - the highest of Umicore’s 3 cobalt powder operations. ► Led project to build a new zinc powder plant to receive ISO-9001 certification and production at full capacity within 2 years.
