During this short term engagement, I was responsible for auditing internal and external web sites and applications (including www.agriculture.gov.au) for accessibility and compliance to WCAG 2.0 Level AA in order to meet the requirements of the Web Accessibility National Transition Strategy. This involved working closely with business unit stakeholders, project managers and developers in order to educate them and provide expert guidance on best practice for accessible web applications. My philosophy for this work is that accessibility is not a check list; it is an ongoing process of continual improvement with particular focus on usability and inclusion for all. This quite often meant going above and beyond what was required for a web application to become WCAG 2.0 compliant. My responsibility in this role was to:-Audit web sites and applications for compliance with WCAG 2.0, Level AA-Recommend fixes to developers, including providing fully working prototypes and code samples-Write, test and implement changes to the front end code of applications to action findings on accessibility issues using a combination of semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript.-Write JavaScript patching scripts to patch non-compliant framework generated code, including adding WAI-ARIA and other semantic mark-up to complex web components-Provide education and guidance for web teams on how to create and maintain accessible applications

As the Web Services Manager for Chandler Macleod I was responsible for all operations and development of the corporate website, intranet and document management systems. My main responsibilities were in liaising with the various business units that comprise Chandler Macleod and making sure that each one was fairly and adequately represented on the sites and coordination of social media campaigns with associated traffic analysis . I was also responsible for the development and support of several high availability, high transaction, B2B systems using both proprietary and commercial solutions. I was also required to produce technical and user documentation, liaise with clients and offer technical support to team members.

As a Senior Network Engineer for Argent I performed pre-sales and post-sales support and installations of Argent Extended Technologies. I was involved in analysing requirements for, designing a solution and ultimately installing complex hardware and software monitoring solutions for customers ranging from small business to multinational corporations with offices and server infrastructure distributed worldwide.

As an Analyst Programmer for Praxa I was involved in a number of large scale projects involving integration of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Exchange) with other third party products including Oracle and SQL Server as back-end databases. I was the primary developer on Praxa's contribution to the Microsoft 'Exchange Ideas' program which involved several large Canberra based IT organisations.

As a consultant with Dialog I drew upon my extensive experience with Microsoft development products to integrate Office and Lotus Notes applications to provide solutions to clients. I was the member of a team that wrote a project management system for the Australian National Audit Office, in Lotus Notes. This project involved integration with Lotus Components (Project Schedule, Spreadsheet and Chart), interchange of data with Oracle databases and Cognos Powerplay for EIS functions.

In my primary role as an application developer I was required to Analyse, Design and Develop applications in Microsoft ACCESS, Visual Basic, VBA and VBScript. I also worked in developing n-tier client server systems with Visual Basic as a front-end to Access and SQL Server back ends. As a Microsoft Certified Trainer, my responsibilities were to instruct students in development of various Microsoft Server and Development technologies.

Major duties were Analysis, Design and Development of products in Paradox for Windows (ObjectPAL).

Duties were to record and resolve queries to the FOS help desk; Analysis and Design of the DSS product review system, used to track and action reviews for the Departments’ forms production area. I was also involved in maintenance and operation of a mini-computer (WANG VS100) and associated equipment. I was responsible for providing advice and assistance to users encountering difficulties and liaise between those people who use the equipment.
