Interim Senior Communications LeadLancashire Teaching Hospitals Nhs Foundation Trust Mar 2020 - Jan 2021Preston, GbI worked on a daily basis with the senior executive at an NHS Hospital Trust on all aspects of major incident response and generic communications, in the wake of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. I facilitated TV crews from Sky News, Granada Reports, ITN, Channel 5 News and documentary production companies, within a highly sensitive hospital environment, to positively promote the outstanding work of the medical teams and all involved within the hospital communities. I acted in an advisory capacity, during a politically sensitive period, involving reconfiguration of emergency treatment facilities and levels of availability of PPE, in a pandemic crisis situation. I initially held the post during a period of transition, as a new incumbent Director came into post and we successfully worked together, to make this a smooth and highly productive period of time in the face of an unprecedented major incident. My consultancy role is now focused on developing the Trust website and online content with the communications team. -

I have advised on specialist food marketing techniques and social mediaChris is a force to be reckoned with. The first time we worked together was on research for a major storyline on ‘The Archers’, when I was immediately struck by his wide-reaching knowledge and his generosity in sharing that knowledge and his vast experience with me. The show later won an award for that storyline. Chris is astute, perceptive and quick-thinking, with the ability to grasp instantly the given circumstances and get right to the heart of the problem. And being solutions-oriented, resourceful and above all extremely creative, he can come up with a range of answers and then find the solutions that fit. He has the rare ability to adapt and utilise his skills in a range of environments, which is why he moves so effortlessly between business and the arts. Chris is warm, witty, great company and a man of integrity who makes working with him both easy and enjoyable.” Carole Solazzo, Scriptwriter, BBC The Archers -

It’s brilliant. I absolutely loved it. So clever, witty, charming, insightful and warm. It was great to see those important topics that aren’t touched on often enough these days. But more than that it was great to see them dealt with properly, intelligently and truthfully.Henry R SwindellBBC writersroom NorthI thought this was a great script. Nicely written. Simple structure with clever inventive use of dialogue deftly handling a complex issue with a light touch. Nice. It felt like an original voice which is exciting. A lovely piece of theatre and thankfully, I was unable to predict the outcome. Jo Joanna Blake Development Producer, Comedy North at BBCTaking us into the interval with a prayer is Seeds, written by Carole Solazzo from a story by Christy Horrocks and directed by Oldham Coliseum's artistic director Kevin Shaw. Steve Mitchell is Brendan, a seminarian who is to be ordained as a priest the next day. Mickey, in a lively performance by Alex Moran, can't understand the celibacy thing and bets him that if a girl offered herself to him, he wouldn't be able to turn her down.Mickey takes Brendan to a night club and hooks him up with pretty Natalie (Kimberley Hart-Simpson), and there is obviously a mutual attraction. Writer Solazzo cleverly layers on the reasons for Brendan not to reject her apart from libido, so how can he escape the situation to follow his vocation without hurting anyone? The basic premise is strong if not hugely original but it struggles to squeeze into the fifteen-minute format, resulting in some confusing jumps between short scenes and multi-role playing. This could be an interesting 40-minute TV drama where the pace could be relaxed enough for the drama to unfold more naturally.Review by David Chadderton
