Chris has over 30 years of experience working in the private sector both at multinational and SME level. Having studied and trained initially as an Engineer, he latterly moved his career into business consultancy where he now runs his own practice, working within public and private sectors.In 2003 Chris was elected to Brentwood Borough Council and has led on most of the major portfolios including; housing, planning, environment, economy, audit, finance, assets and resources. He served as Leader of Brentwood Council 2019 - 2023 and Chairman of the Association of South Essex Local Authorities (SEC). He also sat on the Thames Estuary Growth Board and of Opportunity South Essex, taking a keen interest in regional growth, infrastructure and investment.Actively involved in his local community, he twice served as a school governor and participates consistently in the work of local business and community groups. Chris recently co-founded the Brentwood Environmental Business Alliance (BEBA) and is a Local Government Association (LGA) Peer and an EELGA Talent Bank Associate.
