Continued management of the company's ISO9001 Management System in support of the manufacture, assembly, repair and refurbishment practices employed by the business.Improvement of existing systems.Development of new practices.Liaison with customers and suppliers.Maintenance of the THEOS computer system.System programming.System administration.Autocad operation and 3D modelling,Since my return in 2003 I have also been responsible for the creation and development of a new department relative to new work acquired in the refurbishment of traction control equipment. This has included the specification and installation of test equipment and the creation of working procedures for refurbishment activities plus the competency training needed for this type of work.During 2004 I successfully implemented systems for the supply of Safety Critical Work in line with Railway Group Standards and also Technical Dossiers and overhaul specifications for products supplied by the company.Following the retirement of a co-manager in 2010 I took on the commercial aspects and overall responsibility of Project Lead for a major overhaul project on the London Underground system.This position required the focusing of commercial, engineering and quality related functions to a single point of contact.I was able to deliver correctly overhauled units, on schedule, without issue, and to the agreed budget and ran in parallel to ongoing similar activities in the railway department.

I began work with Jones Nuttall in 1989 on the shop floor, programming and operating NC lathes and soon progressed to full CNC upon the purchase of new machinery four months after starting.In 1990 I moved on to materials management and job issue before adding the position of off-line programmer and CAD operator to my duties. Using CADCAM software and the AutoCAD drafting package, this became a primary role for programming lathes, milling machines and CNC routers, both on and off-line as well as drafting piece-part drawings and assemblies. In 1991 and 1992 I gained City&Guilds qualifications in NC/CNC Part Programming (2303 and 2304) and soon after progressed into Inspection and Quality Management in 1993. At this point I became jointly employed by sister company AI International Laminates Ltd. as both companies shared premises, personnel and the THEOS computer system. Predominantly office-based I became solely responsible for the integration and interaction of QA and technology systems as a unit.I developed the company's initial QA System based on BS5750 Part 2 and accreditation was attained in the spring of 1994. The relevant revisions of the Standard were completed as necessary and under my personal control, the company has progressed from BS5750 through the iterations of the ISO9000 series to current ISO9001 without issue.Commercial aspects of the business followed and I evolved into a primary contact for major clients and suppliers alike.Translating my manufacturing experience into a commercial role, still with a quality bias, I continued in this role developing systems that supported the business from piece-part supplier to kit and assembly provider.In 2002, after aiding the transition of the business to new premises in Warrington, Cheshire, I took planned redundancy in order to concentrate on my family following my wife’s major surgery.
