I was never one for doing things the usual way. In my twenties, I went from mother and housewife to machine shop apprentice to a nuclear engineer tasked with testing complex systems on 688 class submarines at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. While participating in a shipyard quality management seminar, I discovered my true passion for facilitating organizational change. My career with the department of the Navy continued for over two decades, as I combined engineering education, experience and skills with a fervor for bringing high tech solutions to the ultimate customer, our warfighters. As the technology revolution exploded with a frenzy of expensive, non-standard applications, I turned my attention to academic research in order to fully understand the out-of-control problem of failed technology and the proliferation of unusable stove-piped solutions that costs taxpayers billions of dollars every budget cycle.I went on to earn an MS in Systems Engineering as well as a Ph.D. in Engineering Management. I developed a unique approach for developing complex functional and technical requirements. I developed a patented method for distilling the core essence of any enterprise from the natural language business documents already written, reviewed and approved for use by their entire enterprise workforce. I refer to this unique, cloud-based suite of software applications as Reinforced Enterprise Business Architectures (REBAR).REBAR is designed for commercial and government projects alike. It is an organization-based methodology that clears a path through the jungle of high-tech jargon that confuses technical development. Instead just as reinforced steel fortifies concrete, REBAR tools and techniques fortify each functional department’s essential requirements, and thereby uncovers the holistic flow of knowledge that is unique to every enterprise.
