Every child deserves an opportunity to access quality and varied educational experiences whether it is formal education, summer camp, afterschool, or recreational programs. Organizations that aim to educate children need to make themselves accessible. I am thrilled to offer my experience as a social worker and summer camp professional to help organizations welcome, support, and celebrate diverse populations. Camp Highlight is a community for children from LGBTQ families offering a sleepaway camp experience, leadership training, and family weekend getaways. As Director, I have developed a curriculum focused on encouraging respect and mindfulness, forged relationships with vendors, and created train modules for staff involving LGBTQ sensitivity, discussing race with campers, and connecting with children.

Columbia University School of Social Work is one of the largest social work programs in the country. Graduate Student Advisors work with a cohort of first year MSW students to prepare them for the profession. Preparing seminars and lecturing, orienting students to the school, and being the liason between field instructors, students, and professors.

The Juvenile Rights division of the Legal Aid Society provides legal counsel to children involved in matters in family or criminal court of New York. These cases involve abuse, neglect, and abandonment of our most vulnerable. I worked alongside a legal team to augment their work, provide counsel to clients, and fight the foster care system to get services our clients deserve. Worked with the Training department to develop and deliver trainings around LGBTQ sensitivity and child interviews.

Spence-Chapin provides adoption and adoption support services. The AD of Special Programs created and administrated psychoeducational and counseling programs for adoptees and their families .

CFS provides forensic and therapeutic services to families involved in custody or divorces proceedings in New York Family or Supreme Court. The Assistant Director supervised a staff of 20 social workers and office staff, performed forensic evaluations and provided expert testimony for the Court and monitored therapeutic vistation.
