Oversee general office operations including, but not limited to, receiving court filings both electronic and hard copy; customer service, in person, by phone and electronic; Copies; Writ & Warrant issuance.Make contact with disgruntled customers for resolution. Apply independent judgment as to how to handle customers and when complaints should be elevated to Deputy Clerk or Clerk. Working knowledge of County Administrative Guidelines as well Local Rules and Statutes that guide Clerk's Office daily practices.Apply independent decision-making regarding office wide work priorities, mitigating workflow and fulfillment of legal responsibilities.Evaluate employee performance to achieve improved performance and productivity. Provide input to Clerk and hiring manager for potential promotional opportunities.Investigate grievances involving subordinates and recommend resolution to Clerk. Apply proper documentation and confidentiality involving sensitive information. Document employee performance for disciplinary actions, review actions with employee, apply appropriate disciplinary action per Administrative Guidelines. Maintain strict confidentiality. Assist in development of policies and procedures, help interpret policies and procedures, and train personnel accordingly to accurately implement the complex duties of the Clerk's Office.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with County and State officials, employees, members of the bar and the general public.Performs counter and/or phone work providing information to the public, advising attorneys and other interested parties regarding status of cases and legal procedures while maintaining security and confidentiality.Organizes case files; prepares new case activity files; encodes or enters into database for court dates and/or attorney of record; maintains statistical records; processes and distributes court case files.
