I’m an editor and reporter specializing in culture reporting and feature writing. I have more than a decade of experience in journalism covering technology, media, arts & entertainment, and human behavior. Regardless of the subject, I aim to write and edit stories that get to the core of big ideas.As a senior culture editor at The Atlantic, I commissioned and edited reported features, arts criticism, and idea-driven essays for the Culture and Family sections. Before that, I was the features editor at Engadget covering technology’s impact on society. My bylined stories were recommended by The New York Times, Longreads, and Longform. I also won food and arts writing awards from the Society for Features Journalism; a series I edited on food and technology received an honorable mention. Earlier in my career I worked for the Columbia Journalism Review, Reuters, and the South China Morning Post.I was raised in the U.K. and Hong Kong, and now live in New York. I graduated with an M.A. from Columbia University’s journalism school, where I received a Pulitzer Traveling Fellowship for cultural criticism.
