I AM A DRAFTSMAN - ONE WHO MAKES DETAILED TECHNICAL PLANS OR DRAWINGS.I am not... an architect - one who designs buildings and in many cases also supervises their construction. a structural engineer - someone who makes sure your project will stand strong. or a building contractor - a person who oversees the building of your project.​Within most building projects I will end up working closely with one or more of these professions. I have been hired by all three of them at one time or another to assist in their projects. They each have their part and I have mine.​So, You might be wondering what my part is. I draft plans for building projects... when you already know what you want but need it on paper for permitting. when you want plans to give to a contractor in order to get a rough quote. when you are a builder and need plans for your projects. when you want to consider a few ideas and just need to see and compare the differences. when your budget won't support an architect.NE

My wife, our oldest son, and I started a tax exempt, non-profit, charitable organization called Heart of Mercy Ministries, Inc. We take food and clothes out to the streets of our local communities in an effort to help people in need. During the week we receive calls from desperate people that find themselves unable to feed their families. We respond as quickly as possible. I was hired for a three month period to help Habitat reach their building goals. In that time I was involved in the finishing stages of three houses, and the whole process of building three others. I was also involved in the "Blitz Build" where we built five houses from slab to C.O. In just one week. Primarily, I did all aspects of the finish carpentry, as well as framing walls, painting, hanging doors, windows, and siding.

I owned and operated a Stair Building Company. After field measurements and CADD drawings, a typical job started in the shop where we performed all of the milling, gluing, and parts manufacturing. From there it was out to the job site to do the install. We built our stairs to suit our customers' needs and visions for each project, utilizing various hard woods. Our work was high end and meticulous in nature. As owner I worked closely with Contractors, Home Owners, Architects, Interior Designers, Code Enforcement Inspectors, and other Subcontractors. I also employed and managed up to four workmen of various skill levels. I did all of the take-offs, estimating, and material purchasing, and I created all of the shop drawings, proposals, invoices, etc. on the computer. I have a good working knowledge of computers in general and can even design, build, and maintain a web site.

I worked at the Aerospace Research Test Pilot School in Edwards AFB. My job was to coordinate aircraft flight plans with the organizations that needed to know. I was also an Emergency Phone Operator. Whenever there was an Aircraft Emergency, the Tower would call all of the Primary Response Teams and I would pass the information to the Secondary Response Teams.
